FSSAI’s primary mission is to assure the safety and quality of food items provided to customers by regulating and monitoring the manufacturing, processing, distribution, sale, and import of food articles. FSSAI establishes standards and guidelines for food items, restrictions for the use of food additives, quality control procedures and enforcement for any food article, and food labelling regulations.

There are three FSSAI classifications based on the size of your establishment:

  • Registration with the FSSAI (small food business) – An annual revenue of not more than Rs. 12 lakhs
  • FSSAI State License (medium food business) – An annual revenue of Rs. 12 Lakhs to Rs. 20 Crores
  • Central FSSAI License (large food business) – An annual revenue of more than Rs. 20 Crore.

The FSSAI license and registration may be requested for a minimum of 1 (one) year and a maximum of 5 (five) years. You must apply for license renewal before the license’s validity term expires.

Takelegal.in is at your service to help renew your FSSAI membership. To renew your FSSAI license and registration, you must submit a renewal application to the FSSAI administration.
